We’re looking for an experienced Server Engineer to join our in-house development team for Supercell ID that operates within the Supercell X organization. As part of the product team, you will contribute to the development of the player account and social services that allow players to stay safe and get more from the games they play. Supercell ID is live in all Supercell games and we are actively adding and improving the service to provide more value to players.
We're building a service used by hundreds of millions of players. In other words, we have a large user base and need to think about scalability and security from the get-go. We're doing this with only three backend engineers and you would be the fourth.
You would help set the technical and product vision for Supercell ID, design and implement new features and maintain and operate the existing systems. We give you a small team’s worth of responsibility, so there's no one else to thank or blame for any successes or failures. Most things you would work on, you would also own. You get to choose what tools to use and expect you to build systems that are scalable and easy to maintain and troubleshoot.
For anyone currently at a large tech company, we don't have all the building blocks ready that someone else would have made. On the other hand, you get to worry about a much larger spectrum of technical details. This either fits your personality or not, but you should have acquired a good taste for doing things right.
